WHEN PAINTING A CONCRETE FLOOR
You can paint both new and old concrete floors. As a general rule, the concrete floor must be completely dry before painting.
Concrete floors to be painted must also be at least 14 days old. You can easily test whether the floor is dry enough for painting. Using a moisture meter, you can check whether the concrete has dried to a moisture content of less than 5%. There is also a more practical method:
How to Do It:
Cut a piece of clear plastic measuring approximately 100 × 100 cm. Secure the plastic sheet to the floor with tape, making sure to seal the edges tightly. Leave the plastic in place for at least 24 hours, then check whether condensation has formed on the underside. If condensation is present, the floor is not dry enough to be painted.
